Who’s Behind Traitor Radio?

Andrea Grimes, Traitor Radio’s executive producer, is a feminist journalist and reluctant Texpat living in Alameda, California. Most recently, she worked as the digital editor at the Texas Observer, and previously covered reproductive justice issues in Texas as a senior political reporter for Rewire. Earlier in her career, she worked as an investigative reporter and humor columnist at the Dallas Observer. She’s also the founder of the Taco Or Beer Challenge, an annual abortion funding event that combines tacos, beer and abortion stigma-busting.

Kit O’Connell, who reported Traitor Radio’s second episode, “Religious Liberty, Bathroom Bigotry,” is a gonzo journalist from Austin, Texas who is openly biased towards human rights and equality. When he’s not chasing words around the page, he’s a local organizer and a volunteer educator with the Oh Shit! What Now? collective. Kit shares a house with two friends, a vegetable garden, and a fluffy marshmallow cat.
